Overview
The curse client has actually taken some inspiration from stolen some ideas from Minion, which I have used myself too. No, i do not think it's cheap to host a free service. I'd be fine if they made it modular and let you use everything from a single interface. Third-party players that support addon authors. After changing the login from curse to switch which is basically just a changed title in my password manager i can update all addons at once which was previously a premium functionality.
Windows 10 and Curse Client
Easier access to update notes. I like to have a choice, not be bullied into something i don't need nor want. It's also bloating the client up because we are forced to install stuff we don't need. I refuse bloatware, i don't need nor want it. But it's free, does not do anything harmful and provides a valuable service, namely updating all those addons except for elvui which have their own crashy tool.
Replacement for Curse Client?
It's okay if you don't like the addon, but complaining about it beeing user hostile is just stupid. And it's by definition not bloatware because it's one single product. You don't have to click on them. I downloaded the Curse Client so I can start adding all my old addons I use back and it doesn't find WoW. Today, the v5 client started crashing upon start. I asked for the full steps for troubleshooting, a solution, or a refund.
Replacement for Curse Client?
Do I have to wait for the entire game to install or is there some addon folder I can manually direct my addons downloads to? Is there any reliable way to get old client? But that's just my personal opinion. If it weren't for neither one site offering the addons I am using, then I would have a much simpler job. It takes the same amount of time to update stuff, and it's less resource intensive and less crappy than the other one. I just had to do a total reset of Windows 10 due to Curse Client. Curse is now trying to be Origin, Uplay, etc without actually installing games. There's although no idea how good it isIt isnt using Curse's services, instead using those provided by Wowinterface. I cant find the standard curse site.

Curse Addon Client I have relented to the endless adverts from Curse Gaming and paid up for the pro version of Curse Addon Client. It's also bloating the client up because we are forced to install stuff we don't need. Try to get the legacy curse client from the wotlk days, if its still available somewhere. I really don't see the problem with that. I use the option to search for installed games and it comes up empty.

Even after uninstalling Curse Client, it still kept trying to start. If you want an app to just update your addon, then do just that and close it afterwards.

Installed the old legacy one, everything's gravy. I want to use an addon client. Any other alternative similar programs that can do the same job of updating all addons? I simply want to update my addons and nothing else. Less intuitive in my view way of showing the version numbers when deciding yourself if an update is actually an update. With many level 100s, 9 years expertise in making gold, 10 garrisons, 16k achievements, 1505 days played, and over 18m gold earned. It was high time I paid up to reimburse their work. Just want Curse to do addon updates and that's it.

Just how lazy can you be? As far as i know you can disable all the social stuff and the client does not upload anything if you do not allow it in the settings. I'm going to request a refund if there's not a fix within the week. Which sucks if you just want a program to update addons. I went back to the v5 client, and all was well. Now I'm back up and running after a clean reset of Windows 10, and I will never use Curse Client again. People are simply exaggerating the issue to have yet another thing to complain about. Regular updates with extended management and add-on update tracks are released.

I am really sick and tired of software that feels the need to integrate social platforms in every nook and cranny. Curse Client also keeps your addons up to date since it is easily tracking when your addons needs to be updated. But here i have to install a whole host of pointless nonsense just to get the one function i actually use. As for your issue, I doubt it was the Curse client. I like to have a choice, not be bullied into something i don't need nor want.

What does trustworthy even mean? It's also bloating the client up because we are forced to install stuff we don't need. You could have primary method set to release and dbm still set to alpha. It still works when I open it in this case though. Also my shortcut icon for it some times is just the white box without the graphics. He's looking for a trusted replacement for Curse Client. Forget the social aspect part which it seems to be pushing now. They install for you, it's searchable, and it checks for updates on its own.
